drivemocion.jpg The Drivemocian is a battery powered, wirelessly controlled message sign that can be attached to the rear window of your car via the included suction cup. A remote control unit is kept in the front of the car (fixed to front window, dash, or laid in a storage compartment) to activate the messages by pressing one of its buttons. It can display any one of five different messages: Thanks, Back off Wink, Sorry and a smiling face. We will, of course, leave it up to you to decide which of these messages suits your particular situation - but we do think it’s nice to show courtesy, kindness and respect to other drivers. For those of you who are wondering if this little device is legal, just as we did when we first saw this device we have been assured by our supplier that it is due to the following reasons: Static messages (non scrolling) Small (under 165mm diameter) Not wired into car Passive communication with IR technology Does not flash Red coloured illumination

GLO-FLO.gif The Glow Flow Faucet Light adds a splash of colour to your kitchen or bathroom and turns any tap into a streaming crystalline light source. Universal adaptors are included that fit the nozzles of most standard taps. Whenever the water is turned on an internal switch activates an LED light source. Turn off the water and the light goes off too. Fully automatic, the Glow Flow just fits to the tap and works instantly. Cleverly, more than just a gadget, the Glow Flow also includes a temperature sensor so that when the water is cold, the water is lit up in a cool electric blue, and when it’s too hot to touch, it changes the colour of the stream to a warm red warning light.

Panties for Peace!

Burma.jpg Women send their knickers to Burmese embassies in dirty protest to oust rulers;
“Send your knickers to Burma!” protesters urge.

Women around the world are sending their knickers to Burmese embassies to protest against the country’s brutal regime.

Burma’s iron-fisted - yet superstitious - military junta believe touching lady’s underwear will “rob them of power”, organisers say. And Lanna Action for Burma hope their “Panties for Peace” campaign will help oust the oppressive rulers who ruthlessly crushed recent democracy protests.

The group’s website explains: “The Burma military regime is not only brutal but very superstitious. They believe that contact with a woman’s panties or sarong can rob them of their power. So this is your chance to use your Panty Power to take away the power from them!”

Activist Liz Hilton added: “It’s an extremely strong message in Burmese and in all Southeast Asian culture.”

The military junta in Burma, officially known now as Myanmar, faced international condemnation after it brutally cracked down on recent anti-regime protests.

And the country’s oppressive leader General Than Shwe has pledged to continue to hunt down and imprison those who took part. The junta says 10 protesters have so far been killed and 2,100 arrested, but foreign diplomats fear both figures could be far higher.

Protesters in Rangoon last month demanded the iron-fisted generals step down.A wave of extra sanctions against Burma have already been imposed by Western leaders since the callous clamp down, and earlier this week Prime Minister Gordon Brown warned of further measures against the regime if it did not end the violence against its own people.

He said: “We cannot forget the images on our television screens of monks and ordinary citizens in Burma protesting - nor the death and human rights abuses we know are still taking place. Last week’s UN Security Council statement - the first ever formal statement on Burma - sent a powerful signal of the determination of the international community to support the Burmese people in their transition to democracy. Burma must take clear steps towards the return of democracy.”
Women from Britain, Australia, the US and many of Burma’s neighbours began sending their underwear on October 16.
And Lanna Action hopes thousands will soon follow suit and swamp Burmese officials with knickers and end four decades of military rule.
“You can post, deliver or fling your panties at the closest Burmese Embassy any day from today. Send early, send often,” the group’s website urges.
So far Burmese diplomats have not responded.

Vibrator: Threat To National Security

love egg.jpg A British made radio-controlled vibrator has been banned in Cyprus after it was branded a threat to national security.

The Cypriot military are concerned the sex toy’s electronic waves will disrupt the army’s radio frequencies on the island.

A spokesman for makers Ann Summers confirmed its Love Bug 2, a small, egg shaped device operated by a remote control, was on sale for use everywhere in Europe - except Cyprus.

The Ann Summers spokesman said: “The remote control only has a range of six metres. We have still been selling them in Cyprus, but with a warning urging Cypriots not to use it unless they travel abroad.”

In its promotional literature the company describes the device as a “deceptively powerful matt silver love egg”, later adding: “Not for use in Cyprus”.

Military officials refused to comment on the reasons for the ban, but the government’s Communications and Works Ministry said it had been a purely military decision.

A spokesman said: “We never even saw them, they were banned before we even had a chance to check them, but if issues of national security are at stake then that is not surprising.

“The military does operate on a different frequency to the general frequency, but they do not share that information for obvious reasons, only they would have been able to decide what SRD’s (Small Range Devices) might be a threat and what to do about it.”

Lizzie Eddleston from the Ann Summers press office in the UK said: “It is a shame but we have to honour the request and have made it clear that the Love Bug is not for sale in Cyprus.

“We have been told the electronic waves given off by the ‘Love Bug’ would affect military frequencies, but we have told locals that we have a lot of other devices that are not banned which will satisfy their needs. After all, it’s better to make love, not war.”

An enormous pink bunny has been erected on an Italian mountainside where it will stay for the next 20 years. The 200-foot-long toy rabbit lies on the side of the 5,000 foot high Colletto Fava mountain in northern Italy’s Piedmont region.

Viennese art group Gelatin designed the giant soft toy and say it was “knitted by dozens of grannies out of pink wool”.

Group member Wolfgang Gantner said: “It’s supposed to make you feel small, like Gulliver. You walk around it and you can’t help but smile.”

And Gelatin members say the bunny is not just for walking around - they are expecting hikers to climb its 20 foot sides and relax on its belly.

The giant rabbit was finished in 2005 and is expected to remain on the mountain side until 2025, rotting away to weather, cattle and general wear and tear. Anyone wanna take me to see it?!

small pic of my arms outstretched.JPG sorry not posted since I left for Fairy Love HQ over a week ago, but been having lovely time photographing under the waterfall and dress ups and beading wish necklaces and the like. All much love and shinyness, but all a little earthy for me, dying to get home and get my hands on some plastic and junk food and electricity and heating and the like. An open fire is lovely to be 6 inches in front of, but good lord its cold up here. Appreciate your microclimate bunnies! Never realised how much warmer Ventnor is than everywhere else, or is that just my flat…? Still, loving it here, but looking forward to being there again, nothing like the mainland to make you fall in love with the Isle of Wight again!

Family Bear.jpg this is me in my Tedhead. The Tedhead and I met at Womad summer 2005 and were inseperable for the short time we were together; my boyfriend and I nearly broke up over it, and it ws the comfiest, softest, lightest, warmest, most decadent hat I have ever owned.

Then, one fateful night, I went to a party at the Hog Den, if you were there, you’ll know it, and the Tedhead was lost. Now I know the owners of the Hog Den, and I knew most of the faces at the party, so I assumed (assumption being the mother of all fuck ups) that the ’head would return and all would be well in time for the cold and wintry, uh, winter, that was ahead.

But no! Not only did the owners have no knowledge of it’s whereabouts, but anyone and everyone I asked about it also had no memory of the events that may have occurred that evening.

Now I beg of you; if you know anyone with or have seen anyone wearing the magical mystical Head of Ted, please implore them to return it to its rightful owner, as aside from anything else, it cost me £30 squids. And, if you have my tedhead on your head, or in your cupboard or *gasp* on your floor, please, please, please examine your conscience and contact me via the comments section or at fluffypinkblonde@hotmail.com

No! Shopping Bag Bra!

1162778699_28404_p1_img

As previously noted, there’s real trouble in Japan with overpackaging and heavy excessive consumption of plastic bags. So, cheeky lingerie company Triumph Japan has made a new bra, the No! Shopping Bag Bra (translation) that rearranges, Transformers-style, into a shopping bag. The bag parts fold up into the cups, serving as “extra padding”, and the lace and ribbons become decorations and ties. The whole thing is made from polyester that was recycled from plastic bottles. Available in red, blue, green, yellow and pink

Lockup Cup stops people from sharing your coffee

lockup.jpg

Of course, you may be in a perfect office where nobody ever kips your nice, clean mug and leaves it in someone else’s filth in the bottom of the sink. Or you may like the taste of styrofoam disposables - or just enjoy making extra trash. The Lockup Cup is not for any of you. It is a ceramic mug with a small (but large enough) hole in the bottom that is plugged with an actual key, so you can disable your drinking container while you’re off in the boardroom reading the morning paper. Normally the eco-oriented devices are all about the sharing, but they’re also about being responsible, plus it’s easier than chaining it to the coatrack with your spare bicycle lock

carrot peppers.jpg now I know there’s someone out there looking on the site, and if anyone of you know where I can buy carrot and orange soup I’d be most excited, as all I can find these days is carrot and coriander. A fine flavour, but not quite the sixties classic I’m looking. Please post directions in a friendly comment :)
